ASP.Net MVC Developer

Job Description

This is an opportunity for a flexible and adaptable candidate to be involved in the continued development of major websites related to climate/environmental risk transfers (see www.weatherxchange.com, www.speedwellweather.com, www.clearweather.com, www.speedwellsettlementservices.com). These pull together our existing resources of climate data and forecasts, climate risk pricing software and messaging. The websites transform the way that climate risk products are made available to the market.

We are looking for a full stack ASP.Net web developer to support and continue to develop our strategically significant websites (and back end services) which build upon and expand our product offering.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • A minimum of 2 years (ideally 4+ years) of hands-on experience in Microsoft NET & SQL Server
  • Extensive experience with C#, ASP.NET, MVC Razor, Bootstrap, jQuery, Typescript.
  • Experience designing attractive UIs is required.
  • Experience building and consuming XML/JSON Web Services.

Interpersonal skills

  • Self‐motivated individual with a strong desire to develop innovative techniques
  • Creative, positive-minded, and able to collaborate in team environment
  • Trustworthy with professional outlook, suitable for a regulated organization

Other skills of interest

  • Experience with .Net 6 and ASP.NET Core

Quantitative / Data Scientist Developer

We are looking for a Quantitative / Data Scientist developer to support and continue to develop strategically significant data statistical models for data cleaning, forecasting, climate derivatives pricing and portfolios risk calculations.

This is an opportunity for a flexible and adaptable candidate to be involved in the continued development of the world leading climate risk advisory and climate data provider systems. The Speedwell Group of companies is behind the following websites (www.speedwellweather.com, www.weatherxchange.com, www.clearweather.com, www.speedwellsettlementservices.com) and the pre-eminent climate risk management software: the Speedwell Weather System. These systems pull together our vast resources of climate data, forecasts, and climate risk pricing software.

The job is based in our UK office in Harpenden, Herts. The office is a short walk from the train station which is on the Thameslink line. We currently operate a hybrid working environment with a few days in the office per month, with the other days working from home as may best suit the candidate.
